For What It’s Worth

29 Oct

I was at work when I noticed what was going down.

MikaylaTuesday was a big day for the studios responsible for your knowledge of Norse mythology. The frankly unsettling amount of Marvel news unleashed yesterday hit the internet like a SHIELD helicarrier into the New York bay, so I feel you are all likely to know what I’m pleased about right now.

However, that’s totally not going to stop me from setting up a quick recap.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

In addition to all that jazz, we have a few casting announcements, most notably that of Chadwick Boseman playing the Black Panther and Benedict Cumberbatch coming on board to play Dr. Strange.

Oh, not enough to get you excited? Have some footage of Captain Specimen tearing a log in half while Puny Stark looks on in wonder.

I get it. You’re feeling greedy. Marvel assumed that would happen, so they’ve gone and gifted us with the a sneak peek of the Age of Ultron dinner party-vengers and their heaps of worthiness.

Of course, we mustn’t forget that said sneak-peek scene was preceded by Agents of SHIELD and their well-written, swift  machete stab to the gut with its latest episode, A Fractured House.

(My heart goes out to all you poor souls not out-of-your-mind about these recent developments. We just need to get this out of our systems, and your patience will be greatly appreciated until that moment comes.)

Excelsior, my friends. Excelsior.

I didn’t know that I was a Marvel geek and yet I am still screaming!!!!

I may in fact be most excited for the Civil War to start.

Is Captain Marvel a woman? I couldn’t remember and if she is that deserves an extra scream.

YUSSSS I am so happy this is happening! And you may scream indeed, because she is a woman and she is totally magnificent. Her movie was one of the things I was most excited about!

Riiiight? Gah, so cool that they have such a schedule already! Marvel knows what they’re doing, man.

Cue me being simultaneously ‘awesome!’ and ‘oh god, I feel so out of it compared to people who really keep up on all their Marvel knowledge’ o.o Then I remember you don’t have to be an expert to be a fan, and it’s just so cool all the variety and, sheesh, sheer big line-up they’ve got going. way to go. 🙂 🙂 Thanks for the links!!
    Also… I got that reference! ;D
    also also…. Cumberbatch!!! *^_^*
also again… I /love/ that dinner party! and feel out of it, again… who’s that other woman to Thor’s right, in blue?

    • Emory October 30, 2014 at 1:47 pm #

Yayy for being up-to-date! But oh man, being a fan gets a lot more relaxing when you accept that you don’t need to know all about everything before it happens. 🙂
The only beautiful lady I saw sitting next to Thor was Cap, but I don’t know what perspective you’re looking at… Could you be thinking of Maria Hill?
((And thank you so much for getting the reference! High-five, love!))

Oh wait I see who you’re talking about now! Dangit, I don’t know who that is! Maybe Scarlet Witch? But I don’t know what she’d be doing there…

      • Emily C. October 30, 2014 at 8:41 pm #

        Ha. Uh huhh…..
I know.. I know… just easily poke myself for being ‘caught up’ on things. Snrk… and that’s who I thought of too, but was all ‘Noo… wait… why would she? And.. can’t be Pepper..??’ Some other scientist/SHIELD friend?
Hrn… and interesting point from this article ( about Kevin Feige saying that if BC -were- confirmed, “we would have introduced him today”, like Boseman. Despite all the continued rumors. ;P

I… w… wait… . . . *slaps face and ha’s* I’m an idiot… that couldn’t be Jane, could it?! ;D (for some reasons, still have not seen Dark World, so don’t know where she left off… hence ‘being caught up’ comment) ;P

      • Emory October 31, 2014 at 8:04 am #

Ohhhh, Jane! Ohmygosh, I completely forgot about her! Guh, I would LOVE to have her in Age of Ultron.
